Synopsis
In a desperate search for redemption Antonio takes a trip to Finland with 2 kilos of cocaine inside his stomach. What he doesn't know is that he has just become an expendable asset in the crime organization's internal struggle for power.
And White Was The Night is a film about the search for redemption. It examines how we make choices and illuminates their long bearing consequences - even when we don't have a choice at all.
The film is set in the shady world of an international crime organization that reaches all the way from jungles of Colombia to suburbs of Finland and Russia. The story follows the fates of Antonio and Maria, two young Colombians, who come to Finland in search of better lives. Instead of future prospects they realize being caught in the middle of the organization’s internal struggle for power.
Finding themselves in a foreign country without friends, money or
passports they are forced to fight back to survive. They have to face
the dangers of the underworld but also their own traumas and
nightmares of the past. The events unfold during one turbulent day and
a white summer’s night.
And White Was The Night crosses language, culture, and genre barriers creating an original and thought-provoking experience.
